February Release in Review!

***Just an FYI... this is the 2nd Papertrey Ink post for the day!  To see the 1st post, keep reading after you finish this one :)  ***

Holy buncha carbs, Batman!

Yup.
Still recovering from Valentines-o-rama.
Pink milk, heart bagels with strawberry spread, & pink yogurt parfaits for breakfast.
That, of course, left heart shaped pancakes for dinner :)
Because this is what Valentine's Day looks like when you & husband celebrate with three kiddos.

Specifically, it looks like this...

but I'm betting Finn McMissle pajamas aren't what you're here to see :)
{And before you ask, yeah.... Zeke's name is misspelled.  I was trying to hold back on the teacher voice when Eli was working on his Valentines and especially when he started voluntarily busting one out for his brother and then even topped it off with an I love you.  Good thing Zeke's name is tool long for him to notice yet :)  }

But.
Back to the task at hand...
today's o'rama.
As in... February Release Project o'rama.

Starting with Beautiful Butterflies...

Um, yup, I know.  Totally obvious pairing of colors and sentiment but, hey... don't hate.

I could make this card with the same colors and same sentiment in 100 different layouts and still love it.  Butterflies + rainbow colors may sound like a direct line to the 80's but I don't see 80's here :)

I love that Maile girl :)  She is in sole possession of the photo we took at CHA, otherwise I'd stick it riiiiiiiight {here}.

Next up... Lighten Up Sentiments.

I was working away on a clean and simple idea with a lampshade image and this sentiment when I finally had to go all out with the sentiment itself... just couldn't get away from this idea.  So I pillaged and plundered my die storage envelopes until I came up with a familiar favorite... the Love Birds die.

It started as a birdcage, was reimagined as an acorn, and now it can add tunnel to its distinguished resume, too :)

The key to this card is picturing it flat as you would receive it in an envelope...

Ah, there they are.  All the pretty lights at the end of the tunnel :)

This is a rare case of finally finding the perfect project for that sheet of patterned paper that's been around for a year or two now.  I stamped the sunburst image from Nativity Silhouettes right on top of it and embossed it with clear powder.  Totally loving how it really emphasizes the color burst and adds another layer of dimension.

Let's mosey on over to Heart-2-Heart #1...

I have no idea what other images we can expect from the Heart-2-Heart but, man... I hope they're all this cute :)

I totally went for the theme and added a spot for the cup on the inside of the card by cutting through the card front with the Heart Prints die.  Had to repeat that little quartet of hearts up at the top to up the cute factor even more :)

After I die-cut the heart I just traced around the die-cut on the inside of the card with a light pencil outline..  After that it was super easy to line the cup image up to stamp it in just the right spot.

PTI also debuted another new stamp series beginning this month - Framed Out #1....

I paired this one with the new Movers & Shakers: Poppers die.
Yup.
That'd be called love at first sight.

And I didn't even use it like it was intended :)
To get that sweet embossed look I just ran the die though my Big Shot with exactly the same sandwich as I would use with an impression plate.

I kept it feeling a bit more masculine with the starts and sentiment from Framed Out and a strip of the new striped paper from the Aqua Mist Patterned Paper Pack.  {Totally love the stripes!  If I had to pick just one pattern, that's where I'd start.}

Moving on to another "mostly masculine" card from, ironically, the Frilly Flowers set.
{The boys don't have to know that.}

Not gonna lie... I could not WAIT to make one of those amazing zipper cards myself.  So I combined Frilly Flowers with the new Movers & Shakers Sentiments set.  Love how the color scheme, the houndstooth, and the fonts and design of the sentiments kind of neutralize the flower and allow it to be seen simply as a design element.

It is so super fun to reveal the hidden message :)  It really, really is.

And the last card for today...

I tried to keep things quirky on this one by added a few different pattered patterned papers.  I can see that I will finding many more opportunities to highlight those open leaves... love that look.

How appropriate... the gratitude message ends up right here at the end... right where I feel the need to say thank you to all of you :)

Thanks for making my day all the time.  I read every single darned comment and appreciate them all!

I know the rest of the team will appreciate your comments, too :) so head on my to see what they've been up to...

LOVE your out-of-the-box thinking- you made such fabulous, unique cards today! I don't know who Finn McWhatever is on those jammies, but TFS such a cute pic of your little one. Took me back to Valentine's Days with our little one. But they grow up too fast- mine is away at college, so soak up all the kiddie goodness you can now!

I just love the variety of styles you do with your cards, while still keeping them CAS. I look forward to seeing your work and reading your words because they always bring a smile to my face. You also make me think that perhaps, I too, could make something beautiful and creative. Thank you so much for that! Blessings!
